Transformed Health Initiative is a boutique training studio owned by Adam Kelley. Opened in October 2024, the 1,200-square-foot space, reflects nearly five years of recovery after a serious injury requiring two back-to-back spine surgeries sidelined the father of four.

The seeds of his current success were planted during this chapter, which began in 2020. With a long recovery ahead of him and no chance of returning to his previous job, he pursued certifications to build on his associate’s degree in health science.

Today, he is NASM-certified, a performance enhancement specialist, and a certified nutrition coach specializing in women’s fitness.

In 2022, he opened Transformed Health Initiative as an online training studio. Once he became fully mobile, he started training clients at big-box gyms near his hometown.

After much thought, he opened his in-person studio October 2024. Business exploded almost immediately with a 200% increase in the first month.

How Kelley’s injury transformed him as a fitness trainer.

His outlook on fitness and training evolved significantly while rebuilding both his own health and that of his clients.  He gained a new perspective: you don’t need to lift like a maniac to get results. Instead, he discovered tempo, range of motion, and targeted muscle exercises can achieve success while pushing less weight.

Today, he brings the idea of a gentle growth to his clients.  More of a life coach, he focuses on nutrition and proper training, guiding clients on how to eat correctly, sleep better, manage stress, and progress safely in their fitness journeys.

Two years to profitability

Launching his business online helped him build a recognizable brand and reputation that he later transformed into a brick-and-mortar studio. His expertise attracted clients, and word-of-mouth referrals fueled his growth. Those two years laid the foundation for his current success and positioned him as the go-to expert in Moore, Oklahoma, where he operates the only one-on-one personal training studio in the city.

For the first two years of his business, he developed a strong social media presence. Kelley strategically uses his platforms to educate viewers on proper form and technique while celebrating his clients’ progress. 

“I like to empower people. I want them to know why they are doing what they are doing so they can help others in their lives,” Kelley says.

Today, he supplements his online presence with a podcast called “Win on Purpose,” where he shares short, practical tutorials on overcoming common fitness challenges.

From online coach to business wwner

Kelley decided to invest in studio space after comparing the costs of operating as a contracted personal trainer. His new studio provides privacy for his clients—a premium feature that allows him to charge more than big-box gym rates—as well as office space where his kids can hang out when home sick from school.

The studio’s proximity to his home and the community’s small-town feel made it an ideal location. However, the transition from online coach to brick-and-mortar business owner brought new challenges.

“I enjoy working with people one-on-one. The future is about figuring out how I can scale while continuing to help people on a personal level.”
