Are you looking for ways to add extra income sources to your gym? Simple gym equipment add-on’s that do not require a renovation, but can increase the value of your fitness center? In this blog, we’ve identified several companies offering innovative equipment sure to generate new customers and build revenue for your gym.
1. Sound Off Experience gym equipment add-on.

Sound Off is the world leader in “silent headphone” technology. These wireless headphones give gyms the opportunity to innovate on a practical level. Best known for being found at “silent discos,” today’s silent headphones are designed to tackle the ever-changing world of fitness and fitness events.
Now it is possible to host an immersive exercise class outside while providing perfect sound quality to all members of the class. The over-the-head, sound-isolating headphones use radio frequency technology to broadcast audio up to 500 meters away. The headphones stream three channels or more (depending on the model) and feature a channel lock to ensure zero sound overlap.
No more instructors screaming. No more complaints about noise levels. Just a one-to-many, personal experience anywhere.
What is the average cost of silent headphones?
To purchase 30 headphones, transmitters and charging station is about $2,500. Add-ons include an electronic mixer, microphone, rolling rack units, virtual training and more. Each set can be tailored to fit an individual gym’s needs.
Purchase options include financing and renting headphones for single events as well.

How have gyms used silent headphones?
- Maximize space in open floorplans: Hold group classes in spaces not designed for group fitness, such as on cardio equipment. Eliminates the need for overhead speakers and stimulates fitness member interest and curiosity.
- Minimize need for sound mitigation: Small gyms tucked next to professional office space often cannot hold classes during business hours. Using silent headphones eliminates noise complaints by neighbors and frees up additional class times.
- Hold effective outdoor classes: Fitness clubs across the world are building brand identity and loyalty by bringing classes to local communities. Sunday yoga in the park just became a moneymaker, as direct-to-one sound quality guarantees a great experience and increases class value so that goers are willing to pay for access. Gyms in cloudy weather cities, or even those still under construction, can take advantage of the headphones’ portability to provide refreshing yet challenging, hassle-free outdoor exercise classes while permitting for ambient sound.
2. GoFlo Trainer gym equipment add-on.
GloFlo Trainer is a suspension system founded by Liron Prihar. We experienced it firsthand at the Health & Fitness tradeshow this spring and found it an interesting addition to any gym.
Unlike traditional suspension equipment, GoFlo adds the element of elasticity. Resembling bungee cords, the fluorescent green bands stretch, creating instability and forcing the body’s muscles to adapt and strengthen. A side benefit is its weightlessness and bounciness, both of which make it easier for beginners to enjoyably test their limits while engaging in functional fitness exercises.
The basic portable package includes a suspension trainer, resistance bungee bands, dual harnesses, a pulley system, and two grip handles. From there, it’s up to the imagination. We’ve seen adaptations of Pilates to elite-level resistance uses of the GoFlo Trainer.

What is the cost to invest in GoFlo?
According to the company website, premium club packs that can train up to 20 members are $3,999. The combination of a spring-loaded suspension trainer with attachments, including a body holder and stirrups/straps, allows easy change-ups in routines and exercises.
For a single use, there is a multidimensional training package starting at $99*.
What support does a club receive when purchasing GoFlo?
The company offers group instructor and master trainer courses online with certification options, as well as a web-based catalogue of workouts. Choose exercises by the sport, body area, or training type.
3. GiBoard Balance Trainer gym equipment add-on.

This innovative device with a look as cool as a surfboard humbles even the mighty athlete. Made up of nothing more than a bowed wooden board and a slack band, the GiBoard (pronounced “Gib-Board”) by Gibbon looks easy to manage, but one step proves it is not.
Designed in Germany more than 15 years ago, the product entered the U.S. market two and half years ago and is distributed by Rogue Fitness.
How does the GiBoard work?
The GiBoard Balance Trainer by GIBBON rewards stability, motor skills and mobility. While the band is merely inches from the floor, the low-profile design encourages repeat attempts.
Billed as a slackline balance training system, the vibrating band requires individuals to use lower body muscle strength and concentration to maintain stability. The design plays off the sport of “slacklining,” where a piece of webbing is fixed above the ground but not stretched tight.

“The vibration created by the line engages the whole body and fosters a deep mind-body connection,” says Derek Mikulski, national director of commercial sales at Gibbon USA, as quoted in Athletech News.
What is the cost for a GiBoard?
The maple wood GiBoard starts around $180 and comes in a pro version with a two-band challenge. Readily available for home use, the balance boards are gaining popularity with personal trainers, group fitness and rehab centers.
